June 2010
As part of the recruitment campaign for the newly formed Bramley Community Responder Team a combined display stand was deployed with the Heartstart UK - Tadley Triangle Scheme. A number of contacts were made with local residents interested in joining the Bramley Responder Group or taking advantage of the free 2-hour Emergency Life Support training course provided by Heartstart.

September 2009

John Norrish (TCR Public Relations Officer) attended the Golf Club Charity day on Saturday 19 September 2009 with a display of the equipment used by Responders when attending emergencies. During the the evening he was joined by team member Penny Howett for the presentation of a cheque for £1500.00. They also met next year's captain who stated that TCR, along with Breast Cancer, are his two charities for next year.
We are very grateful for the continuing financial help from the Bishopswood Golf Club who are amongst our most generous supporters.

HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY TO TADLEY SWIMMING POOL

Saturday the 14th June 2008 saw celebrations underway marking the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Tadley Swimming Pool. A number of local organisations were invited to attend including representatives from the Fire Service and the Basingstoke Community Wardens. Tadley Community Responders also handed out "goodies" for the children as well as potentially life saving information for the grown ups. Free swims, free sweets and free fun on the Bouncy Castle and fabulous weather also helped to make it an enjoyable occasion for all.

ADVANCED DRIVING AT GOODWOOD
On Saturday 26 April the majority of the Tadley Community Responders Team together with a few friends and family took part in an exciting afternoon's tuition on the Goodwood Motor Circuit Skid Pan.
Under the expert eyes of our instructors we learned how to control both manual and automatic vehicles when confronted with both rear and front wheel skids.
Inevitably, mistakes were made by the majority of us resulting in a great deal of good natured ribbing by the instructors as well as those who were skilled(?) enough to avoid "killing" the track marker tyres!! At the end of the day valuable lessons had been learned and a good time was had by all.

The Co-Operative store in
We are very touched that it’s the local community who are
deciding to pledge their support to this vital local service for the third year
running. The monies raised will be put to use, locally, in providing vital
operational and training equipment. Without such help, we would not be in
a position to equip and support the voluntary members who go on call aiming to
provide the 24 hours a day, 365 days a year cover. The support we have
received from the Co-Op Community Support Card Scheme is greatly appreciated and
gratefully acknowledged.
Tadley Community Responders have been in operation for over 6
years and have dealt with over 2200 emergency 999 calls in the local community
during that time – the top three reasons being “Accidents; Heart Related
Incidents and Breathing Difficulties”.

Xmas 2007

At this year's TCR Xmas "Pink" Party we were especially pleased to be able to welcome, accompanied by their wives, our special guests who had given their support throughout the year to Tadley Community Responders. Rolo and Glenn from Whitchurch Ambulance Station had provided us with valuable "3rd manning" experience and John Drake (Captain of Bishopswood Golf Club) had adopted our cause as one of his nominated charities for 2007.
During the evening John surprised us, yet again, by presenting us with a cheque for £1330!!
We would like to express our sincere thanks to our supporters and hope they enjoyed the evening as much as we did. I am still looking for the photo of Rolo's wife, Avril, handcuffed to John Norrish who did a sterling job getting the beers in!

Co-Op Community Card Awareness Event
On Tuesday the 11th and Saturday the 15th December 2007 we will be holding an event at the Co-Op in Franklin Avenue, Tadley, between 10:00am and noon-ish each day.
The aim of our visit to the store is to raise awareness of the Co-Op Community Card Scheme and request customers to ask checkout assistants to swipe the cards at the till. This is an excellent way for Co-Op customers to help us with no cost to themselves as the Co-Op donates 3% of the shopping bill to our worthwhile cause.
We will also be handing out leaflets with information on Community Responders as well as furthering our campaign for larger house numbers. The Loddon Valley Lions "Message in a Bottle" scheme will also be promoted.
We hope very much that you can come along and "meet the team"!

June 2007 - Tadley Treacle Fair
Tadley Community Responders again supported the Loddon Valley Lions by attending the Treacle Fair on 3 June 2007. We had our operational and training kit on display.
We were very happy to meet local residents to raise the awareness of our role in the Community and explain how we operate in support of the South Central Ambulance Service.
We also took the opportunity to hand out information on how you can very simply help us to help you during an emergency. We were especially pleased to be able to give details of our operations to five potential recruits and invite them to our next training night at the Hurst School in Baughurst.

February 2007 - Good Citizens Award
Nicola Cliff, the group coordinator, was delighted with this award for when she got the group off the ground it was, indeed, to help the Community. To receive this community award for the group is recognition of the work and ongoing training both current and past responders have given in support to the Hampshire Ambulance Service (recently renamed “South Central Ambulance Service”).

Xmas 2006
The Tadley Community Responder Xmas Party was held at the Bishopswood Golf Club restaurant for the second year running... except this year we let our hair down(?) with a theme of "A Bad Hair Day"!!
Here's one of the more frightening scenes endured by the bar staff and patrons on the night!!

Would you trust either of these men(?) with your life?
A good time was had by all... bad hair, good hair... or even no hair!!
May the Fuzz be with you... Anybody got a comb?
